Meliss Bachar, formerly Meliss Jakubovic, is married to Moshe Bachar and has a son named Shai who was born on December 8, 2006.  She resides in Atlanta, GA and dreams to live in Israel.  She began Israeli Folk Dancing when her parents got divorced and her mother took her to the session to spend extra time with her.  Meliss' sister was also taken to the class but she did not take to the Hebrew music and folk moves.  Currently, Meliss dances almost everyday at Jewish day schools, the Jewish Community Center (MJCCA), community events and festivals, and Bar/Bat Mitzvah parties.  She also leads an Israeli Folk Dance Performing Group called Nitzanim.
